O ver 150 volun teers o rg an ized the event, they sorted clothing and p re pared and served m eals. U nion G ospel M issio n has been h o sting the annual O p era tion O vercoat event for 12 years. F re e C o n c e rt O p e n to A ll The University of Portland Uni versity Singers, W omen’s Chorale, and Jazz Band will be performing their first concert of the year at 3 p. m. Sunday, Oct. 2. The concert will be in the Buckley Center Auditorium on the Univer sity of Portland campus, 5000 N. Willamette BI vd. The event, which is dedicated to transform ing youth one parent at a time, will give parents through out Portland a chance to have a fresh take on developing self esteem and self discipline.
